Dine Out at Mazzio's From 8/22 - 9/30 to Help End Child Hunger
We invite guests to dine in at Mazzio’s to help raise awareness and funds to end childhood hunger.
From Aug. 22 – Sept. 30, guests can donate $1 to Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry® campaign at all participating Mazzio’s dine-in locations, and will receive a souvenir cup and a coupon for a free small, one-topping pizza with a $5 purchase. When guests call to place a delivery or pick-up order (Tulsa and surrounding areas—918-664-4444; Oklahoma City and surrounding areas—405-799-9999), they can donate $3 for a coupon strip for over $25 worth of free food. Every dollar donated helps connect a child facing hunger to 10 nutritious meals.
One in five children goes to bed hungry, according to the Share Our Strength organization. The No Kid Hungry campaign helps kids in need by providing nutritious food and teaching their families how to cook healthy, yet affordable meals. In 2015, over 12,000 restaurants raised over $9 million and since 2008, restaurants have raised more than $37 million through this platform.
The funds raised through the campaign are used to raise awareness about childhood hunger in the U.S.; create public-private partnerships that align kids with the resources they need; support nutrition programs like school breakfast and summer meals through Cooking Matters; and educate kids and their families on how to cook healthy meals with limited resources.
“We’re excited to continue our support of the No Kid Hungry campaign, where we’re able to help bridge the gap and feed nutritious meals to children,” said Sheri Miksa, president and CEO of Mazzio’s LLC. “As our involvement grows, we want to make the community aware of the child hunger problem, and with the help of our guest donations, we’ll be able to help kids grow up to be healthy and strong.”
